In 2000 I went to a Ray Hunt clinic in Maine. He started a young horse, and at one point, he leaned over from his own horse and hugged the colt around the neck. In a gentle voice he said, "Welcome to my world". This painting is dedicated to that moment and to the groundbreaking work of Mr. Hunt.
The painting raised some much needed money for the Equine Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Ray Hunt has recently died, and it was wonderful to hear stories about his life and work.
